The UE error on your LG top load washing machine means the laundry has bunched up on one side of the tub or the washer is not sitting level, causing an imbalance during the spin cycle. The washer will attempt to rebalance by adding water and redistributing the load — this may extend the cycle by up to 10 minutes. If balance cannot be achieved automatically you will need to manually redistribute the laundry.

Common causes

Laundry has clumped or tangled on one side of the tub
A single large item such as a blanket or duvet is not distributing evenly
Too many laundry nets used at once or a single laundry net is being washed alone
Washer is not sitting level on the floor

How to fix it

Pause the cycle and open the door

Manually redistribute the laundry evenly around the tub

For large items like blankets fold them and press them below the plastic ring at the top of the tub — use the Blanket/Bedding cycle and wash one blanket at a time

Do not wash just one laundry net — wash two to three nets that are two-thirds full

Add more items if the load is very small to help balance the weight

Close the door and press Start/Pause to resume

If the washer is vibrating excessively check that all four feet are level on the floor
