LG Washing Machine (Front Load) Ub error code
The Ub error appears on certain LG washing machine models and means the same thing as UE — the drum load is unbalanced and the machine stopped spinning to protect itself from excessive vibration. When the error first appears the machine will automatically try to rebalance by adding water, agitating, and retrying the spin up to 3 times. If all attempts fail it displays Ub and waits for you to manually fix the load. Redistributing the laundry almost always clears it.
Common causes
- Small load with too few items causing clothes to clump on one side
- Mixed fabrics where heavy items like jeans separate from lighter items during spinning
- Single large item like a blanket or duvet spreading unevenly across the drum
- Washing machine is not sitting level on the floor
How to fix it
-
1
Open the door and manually spread the clothes evenly around the drum
-
2
For small loads add one or two similar items to help distribute the weight
-
3
For large bulky items like blankets add a few towels to balance the load
-
4
Check that all four feet of the machine are level on the floor
-
5
Close the door and restart the spin cycle
-
6
If the error keeps appearing on a balanced load run a Rinse and Spin cycle with an empty drum — if Ub still shows the machine needs a technician
