LG Washing Machine (Wash Tower) dE1 / dE2 / dE4 error code

The dE1, dE2, or dE4 error on your LG WashTower means the washer door is not properly closed or locked. The WashTower's washer drum is tightly sealed to prevent water and steam from leaking — if laundry gets trapped in the door or the door does not close properly leaks may occur. When closing the WashTower washer door press the centre of the door handle from the front.

Common causes

  • The door was not closed properly — press the centre of the door handle from the front
  • Laundry or a foreign object is trapped between the door and the gasket
  • The rubber gasket is damaged or torn
  • The door latch is damaged or bent
  • The door magnet is missing or the door lock sensor is malfunctioning

How to fix it

    Make sure all laundry is fully inside the drum — for large items like blankets push them in further to allow the door to close properly

    Check that small items are not caught between the door and the gasket

  3. 3

    Pull the door open using the handle and then close it again firmly by pressing the centre of the door handle from the front

    Once the door is properly closed the error code will clear and the washer will resume operation

    If the door latch is damaged or bent or the rubber gasket is torn do not attempt to fix it yourself — contact a qualified technician service
