LG Washing Machine (Wash Tower) IE error code

The IE error on your LG WashTower means the washer is not filling with water. Make sure the taps are fully open and check whether the inlet hoses are kinked or swapped. The WashTower requires both hot and cold water connections — if the hot and cold hoses are swapped the error can occur. Note that service fees may apply for IE errors not caused by a product defect such as closed taps or a water outage.

  • Inlet hoses are kinked, bent, or not connected properly
  • Hot and cold water hoses are swapped
  • Inlet filter is clogged with debris
  • Drain hose holder is missing causing water to drain as fast as it fills
  • Drain hose end is submerged in water causing siphoning
  • Taps or inlet hoses are frozen in cold weather

How to fix it

    Open the taps connected to the washer by turning them counter-clockwise — confirm both are fully open

    Check that the hot water hose is connected to the hot tap and cold to cold

    Straighten any bends in the inlet hoses — the unit may shift during operation and kink the hoses

    Check the inlet filter — close the taps, disconnect the hose from the back of the unit, remove the filter with tweezers, clean with a toothbrush, and reassemble

    Make sure the drain hose holder is secured in the correct position at the rear of the unit

    Make sure the end of the drain hose is not submerged in water

  7. 7

    For frozen taps wrap them with a cloth soaked in hot water for 5 minutes — thaw frozen hoses in warm water below 60°C
