HP Printer (Smart Tank) E5 error code

The E5 error means your HP Smart Tank printer's scanner has stopped working. Note that the printer can still print even when E5 is displayed — only scanning and copying are affected. Press Cancel and try scanning again. If it still fails turn the printer off and back on.
