tCL on your LG top load washing machine is not an error. It is a reminder that it is time to run the Tub Clean cycle to prevent buildup of dirt, residue, and odor-causing microorganisms inside the tub. To dismiss the reminder select another cycle or press any button. The reminder will reappear after a set number of cycles until Tub Clean is performed. LG recommends running Tub Clean at least once a month.

How to fix it

To dismiss the reminder temporarily select another cycle or press any button

For models with Tub Clean: power on the washer, select the Tub Clean cycle, add the recommended amount of washing machine cleaner to the tub, and press Start/Pause

For models without Tub Clean: add washing machine cleaner to the tub, fill two-thirds full, run for 2–3 minutes, turn off and wait 2–4 hours, then run a full Wash-Rinse-Spin cycle

Use an oxygen bleach washing machine cleaner — avoid chlorine-based or acidic cleaners

After cleaning leave the door open to dry the inside of the tub
